Is it a boy or a girl

Right now Hula is at day 35 of her pregnancy, during this time the sex of the puppy is being determined. I know in my heart it is a girl, but am really hoping for a boy, not only because I like the little boy puppies, but because we have yet to keep anything out of Bubba (the dad). So here is hoping just for healthy. I found some neat toys that we will use to announce the sex of the puppy when it is born. Here are the pictures

Half Way

Hula has made it to the half way point in her pregnancy. Not alot of changes, but some, larger nipples and some nesting going on. At least we are saying it is nesting, it could be she is just hording all of the new toys they dogs got for Christmas. (the dirty yellow black thing is her FAVORITE toy a yellow pineapple which is no longer being made. She got a big pineapple for christmas, just not the same.

Gummie Bear Size

When we were at the vets for the second ultrasound, she referenced the size of the puppy to be about the same size as a gummie bear, well I just had to show you how small that really is..

Hula would also like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. She is just hanging out at home having a good one with all of her new toys.

And the puppy count is?????????????????/

Just one puppy. Though we are sad that there is only one puppy, we are THRILLED that she is pregnant. In the ultrasound today we were able to see the cord, and the little heart beating. It was and is very thrilling.

On a side note, on the way to the ultrasound, Hula got sick in the car. Very unusual, so we mentioned this to the Dr. and she looked at the ultrasound and low and behold the single baby is pressed up against her stomach.. Stayed tune for more info on the baby.

The results

The results are in and Hula is going to be a mommy. We are very thrilled. She is very early on in her pregnancy (17 days). Here is the picture of the ultra sound. The vet only saw one blob, so we will be going back next week to see more!!!
