Back talk

Sometimes the puppies just have to have a say in things. Or so they think. Actually these were just a couple of yawns caught in action.

3 Weeks Old

I can't believe they are three weeks old already. It really is going fast. Today was a good day to hang inside with the puppies and take some fall pictures. Happy Fall Everyone!

Visitor hours are now posted

That is right the doors for the visitors have officially opened. Technically it should have been tomorrow (Monday) But well one day is not going to make or break them. The puppies were extremely pooped out after the busy afternoon of visitors. Mary and Ken were here (they will be getting one of the boys). And some of my family came. FUN TIME! Too much fun this weekend just to post once. We posted four times today. Too cute not to share.

The awwwwwwwwww factor

Just really cute misc photos from the weekend. These puppies are growing big time, they are more stable on their legs and rather than stumbling around they are walking and approaching us.

Poor Hula

The puppies have teeth. Poor Hula. How painful does this look.

Are you ready for some football

Miss Red is. She and Doug had some one on one time on Saturday watching the Norte Dame/Purdue game. Couldn't resist.

Rough and Tumble

Let the playtime begin. They are all starting to play with one another. Miss Blue is very loud and wants her mama, and whines until Hula comes back into the whelping box. Once Hula is there she zonks right out. Enjoy!

See how we have grown

They are growing by leaps and bounds. Also alot louder than they were. All of the puppies are playing and tugging at each other, pushing for their own space. Fun stuff.

HUH!?! What was that

Oh my gosh, they can definatley hear. Last night we had them in the living room, Miss Blue caught sight of the television and then we saw all them turn their heads when they heard the high pitch of the "puppy puppy puppy". Amazing. I think it has scared at least one of them, they are not sure what is going on.

Comfy Cozy

These little ones just snuggle on in for a deep sleep. Their little tongues hang out and the fight for the top stop. Just so precious! Gotta love it.

Schedules

You would think that puppies really do not have much of a schedule. I think this puppy wanted to make sure he got his time. He decided to schedule himself into my week. Each puppy gets one on one time right now, working on tummy time (some DO NOT like this at all) and just some bonding time. So he scheduled right in on his time.

Fritto Feet

I am just so mesmerized by how tiny the puppies feet are. Had to capture it in a photo. Mr. yellow was not very cooperative but you get the picture anyways.

Bottoms Up

Now that their eyes are open it seems like a frantic rush when the milk truck shows up. This is what happens when you show up late. The puppy just threw itself into the mix and ended up bottoms up. Just made me laugh right out loud.

True color

The puppies are finally big enough that I can turn off the heat lamp during the day. YEAH! This also gave me a great chance to take pictures of them so you can see their true color. They definatley are not as golden as they look with the heat lamp on. Hula was very light when she was a puppy and has develped into a very pretty golden color. I hope the same for these kids.

Check out how dark the ones pads of his feet are. So sweet

Cabana Kids

No longer do we have the cabana girls, it is now the cabana kids. They love laying in this corner with the fabric. The heating lamp will come down today as they are sleeping as far away from it at they can. The little heat monster as they are.

A tender moment

I know three posts in two days. I guess it is only one day as it was way past midnight when the video went up. Last night I got in late and had two very tender moments. One with Hula as I came into the whelping room she just sat down and looked into the box so I sat next her and told her what a GREAT job she was doing. She look very peaceful and very motherly. She leaned in put her head on my shoulder gave a great big sigh and then just sat their and looked at the puppies, it was a prideful moment for both of us. Though there is no picture of that, it is definatley burned into my memory

The second moment was when Mr Yellow (Yeah I know go figure he is a mama's boy) decided to curl up and lay right next to mom. Just so sweet.... and oh so content. Enjoy! I am sure I will be hearing the AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWwwww across the land

Peek a boo

I see you. Their eyes are starting to open. I would guess that by the end of the week they will be completely open and ready to take in the world. This is a picture of Miss Blue. Just hanging out taking it all in.

Ready Set GOOOOOOOOOOOO

Or should I say tumble. All of the puppies are really trying to stand on all four and then trying to walk. Well they just can't do it. They stand for about two seconds and then they tumble right over. Very sweet. A for effort

Snuggle Bugs

It was a little damp/cold last night and here is what I found, a bunch of snuggle bugs. I definately turned on the space heater to keep them warm and cozy.

Week One

Week one has come to a close. The puppies have all gained well over 1lb each. Needless to say all of the extra skin they had when they are born is no longer there, they have grown into the skin quite well. They are settling into a routine and we have a couple of the puppies that are starting to "peak". Their eyes are starting to open, just a tad!

Here is a group picture of all of them nursing. I am hoping to get a video on the blog by weeks end.

Any nook or corner will do

The puppies have a way of sleeping in any nook or corner and in any position. But the funniest thing by far is when you walk by the whelping box and see the heating stuffed puppy crawling across the box. This happens when two of the puppies are underneath the stuffed puppy fighting for position. What a hoot. Not alot of puppy piles going on over here. Seems they all like their space. Sounds just like Hula's first puppy Peyton.

Nose to Nose

Sometimes you just have to get nose to nose with these little ones. That is exactly what my husband did last night. They sure are cute and getting BIG.... Hula must have the righ stuff.
